Hon'ble Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh conferred the DRDO Technology Awards-2003 and 2004 at an impressive ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 17 May 2005 as a part of the National Technology Day celebrations.These Awards were introduced in 1998 to motivate and encourage DRDO scientists and technologists and DRDO partners in industries as well as academicia, in accelerating the pace of development of critical technologies, transfer of technologies from the laboratories to industries and productionisation of the state-of-the-art defence systems.
