The Propulsion Panel was constituted in 1972 with objectives to sponsor research , development and design projects in the feild of Aircraft Propulsion, keeping in view the future needs of the country with regard to the development of aero-gas turbine engine for military applications. Subsequently, the panel has widened its scope of activities to cover frontier areas in aerospace propulsion and to address problems related to civil aviation.
