Directorate of Aeronautics (R&D) is the principle scientific and technical authority under the Director General Research & Development in matters relating to research, design, development of aircraft, aeroengines, accessories, systems and parts. Established in June, 1967, this Directorate coordinates the work of five DRDO laboratories and acts as an interface between the labs and the CCR&D (AMS) at the Headquarters on one hand and with the Defence Services on the other. Apart from this, the five Directorate is responsible for Aeronautics
R&D Board and its secretariat. The laboratories coordinated by the Directorate are ADRDE in Agra and ADE, CABS, CEMILAC, DARE and GTRE at Bangalore. |
